like that Night Driving Thing..

...acquiring new Headlights and Headlight Glasses.

 

 

(BTW the Dollmaker reports that the Headlight Glasses do work to

reduce the strain of headlight glare.)

 

 

 

 

 

also a time to be Playing...with

 

 

 

 

 

specifically,

 Spiral Pillows!

 

 

 

 

 

also a month for...

 Noticing.

January 15th!!!

The Dollmaker's Darling Daughter celebrated

not only her birthday but also celebrated

the New Year with her new husband

in their first New Home!

Congratulations Shannon and Chad!

 

 
 

and then January ushered in a

 Crazy Wreath Revival!

 

 

Sprouting from the depths of the Dollmaker's

 vast Collection of Assorted Odd Yard Bits

there are growing.. Wreaths.. Wreaths whose Purpose is...

simply.. Expansion..

And, on January 29th, the Chinese New Year started-

The Year of the Snake.

 

 

hmmm yes, Musing Minds may wonder

ah, so- the answer is- YES! the Dollmaker has, indeed,

made a Snake Goddess- t'was years ago

a special order, as she recalls...

but, yes, It's been done. Might be done again.

The Snake Year signifies a Time for Personal Growth and Reflection..

The Three Escapes:

 

     

The Three Escapes: A Painting

based on a story from the I Ching..

In Ancient China, when the King went hunting,

he used "Beaters" on three sides.. to flush out the game..

the King would permit the game to escape

if they ran away in the Fourth Direction

This gave the animals a sort of power of choice- a sporting chance..

 

The animals could escape the hunters if they chose

the one way which was left open for them.

 

 

 

So, this Custom led the Dollmaker to consider

Scenarios where it looked like

there were three or four possible Escapes,

but only one Path actually led to safety.

Which one?

 Which Escape would be the real one?

 

 

 

 

Meanwhile the Winter Garden is

mostly dead

except for the MULLEIN!!

Noticing...

that the Mullein in the wheelbarrow needed thinning

as the wheelbarrow slowly, glacially, dangerously, tipped to one side...

The Dollmaker, with the aid of shovels, crowbars, pry bars, hammers, and ratchets

 laboriously, heroically lowered the heavy wheelbarrow to the ground

without hurting herself, and transplanted

bunches of Mullein to pots and other areas of the garden.

Mullein makes Winter Gardening fun!
